JPG cannot hold transparency, so it gets filled with a colour. Hirira shows a colour picker the moment that applies. Pick the colour the image will sit on and the edges blend cleanly.
WebP for the web: usually 25 to 35 percent smaller at the same look, and it keeps transparency. JPG when the site you are uploading to only takes JPG.
No. PNG keeps whatever is already in the JPG, artefacts and all, in a much bigger file. Use PNG when you need transparency or an exact copy.
