About

Hirira is four free image tools: compress to a size limit, resize, convert between formats, and turn photos into a PDF. No account, no watermark, no paid tier. Ads pay for it.

Why it exists

Resizing, converting and hitting a KB limit are usually the same job. A form wants a 600 by 600 JPG under 200 KB and your photo is a 4032 by 3024 PNG at 8 MB. Most sites do one of those steps, so you end up downloading and re-uploading two or three times. Hirira does all three in one run, and the file never leaves your device.

How it works

Your browser reads the image, redraws it at the size you picked, and saves it in the format you picked. That is the whole pipeline, using features browsers have had for years. No server is involved because none is needed. The PDF is assembled the same way, byte by byte, by code in this site rather than by a service somewhere.

For a size limit there is one extra step. Nothing turns a quality percentage into a file size reliably, because it depends on the picture. So Hirira saves the image several times, measures the real bytes each time, and narrows in on the best quality that still fits.

Limits come from your device

A 2 GB phone and a 32 GB desktop cannot handle the same batch, so Hirira measures yours on load and shows the real numbers under the drop area before you add anything.

What it will not do

  • Claim success when a size limit was not met.
  • Crop without being asked. Resizing scales, it never cuts the edges off.
  • Flatten transparency silently. You pick the colour that replaces it.
  • Kill a batch over one bad file.
  • Upload anything.

Accounts, subscriptions, AI background removal, video, text recognition and a paid API. A tool that works properly beats three that almost do.
